The challenge of developing such digital literacies for teachers and students is becoming critical when modern technologies are embedded in every aspect of our lives, and when the demand of using a second language in any kind of negotiation, collaboration and knowledge sharing and creation is high. Developing digital literacies is even more crucial given that our education systems have had to transform to technology-oriented modes of learning as we develop new norms of living and working and emerging technical tools are rapidly being adopted for learning to avoid education loss during the pandemic. Thus, we need to investigate how to foster digital literacies of second language teachers and prepare them to be able to fully utilise the affordances of new technologies for teaching a foreign/second language. This networking opportunity will enable researchers, stakeholders and policymakers to work together to explore emerging issues and agendas around developing digital literacies in second/foreign language instruction and in co-costructing future projects.
